A. Meaning Thaharah 

According to the language, thaharah means holy or clean. Meanwhile, according to the term, is the holy of hadast thaharah and unclean. Holy holy state of hadast point after ablution, bathing tayamum or mandatory. Sacred meaning of the unclean state of purity after the clean unclean in body, clothes and place.Taharah requirement is a key and legitimate prayer. Taharah law is COMPULSORY on every Muslim man and woman who have been subjected to religious obligations (mukallaf). Means a person belonging to the state mukallaf baligh, resourceful and have heard religious appeal. Allah says in surat al Mudatsir @ 4 and 5
It means: "And the clean clothes, and shun the dirty deeds (sins). (Al Mudatsir: 4-5).
 

1. Kind of  water 

Water that can be used are water purification, clean (purify sacred anymore) and not exposed to unclean. That is water that falls from the sky and out of the earth that has not been used for purification.As for all kinds of water that we can use for purification are: 

- Precipitation    - Water lake

- Water snow     - Water dew   

- Water wells     - Sea water      

- The river

2. Division of Water

In the review of legal terms, there are groups which are essentially pure water, but it becomes impure for one thing. In such a case the water is divided into four sections: 

• Muthlaq, is water is still pure, purify sacred anymore. This water can be used for purification by not makruh. 
• Musyammas, that is pure and can purify water, but makruh to use. An example is water that is heated by the sun in place of metal instead of gold. 
• Musta'mal, namely the holy water but could not purify. Muthlaq is water that has been used for purification / remove hadats. Such water can not be to purify themselves. 
• Mutanajis, is water and mixed affected by unclean. If the volume is less than 216 liters of water and mixed with unclean, then the water is not lawful for purification. But if the volume of water more than 216 liters, and does not change the nature of the water, it is legitimate to use purification.Note: 216 liters, approximately the size of two bathtubs being.
